    Unit can be grounded to provide some measure of lightening protection.

    Bought this to replace an older model of same brand that was damaged by lightening. A new item at a good price as it was an "open box" purchase. I was a little inconvenienced by it not having operating instructions included. Best feature is it allows the unit itself to be grounded independently.
