Has peppermint oil in it and you may get a slight tingle as I did but it works well. Only real complaint would be I had to use a butter knife to shave the circumferance to fit in my mug. Although ...the mug probably wasn't meant for shaving soap as I picked it up at Salvation Army! Saved seller.
