  • Fridge start relay

My refrigerator started making a clicking sound every few minutes and the compressor would not start. It would do this for 10-15 minutes before the compressor would finally start. I'm not sure if the temperature had to get warm enough inside or if the circuit had to develop enough juice before it would turn on. So technically it did not completely fail to work, it was just intermittent. The clicking sound was disturbing however. I read that the starting relay was the culprit so I purchased a new replacement. Installation was very easy and it fixed the problem. Now the fridge starts right up with no more clicking. The old relay did not have any loose parts inside that rattled when shaken like I read elsewhere so that was not an accurate diagnostic. But something inside was definitely not working properly and it needed to be replaced. I hope this review is helpful to anyone else with a similar problem.
