    The description was incorrect, but the pictures of the hallmarks clearly showed the spoon was circa 1826, not 1804. It is an excellent cautionary tale to look carefully at the pictures. Action was prompt. Excellent packaging; arrived quickly, safely packed. The spoon was bright and shiny and sure to brighten any table or bowl. It fortunately survived the "Great Silver Melt" (1979-1982) when many families’ collections of sterling silver flatware and holloware were sold for quick cash.
