the cap is extremely difficult to open but the product inside is well worth it, been using this product off and on since 1985 and it's the only medicine that I have ever used that actually kills these hateful chiggers, they are so mean and they love to get in the worst places on your skin!!! If you apply this medicine at least twice a day, and three if you shower, then these monsters should be gone within a few days unless you have a bunch of them like I do right now, so the healing process does take a little bit longer but I can say this, soon as you apply the chigarid the itching stops, it's amazing!!!! Disappointed
I deal with bug bites every time I step outside and hoped this product would be the answer. It goes on easily with a little dispenser wand, but did not stop the itch, and actually left a waxy substance on my skin that I had to scratch off to remove.

Relief from those little bugger's bites
We had a bird nest just outside our bedroom window where we could watch the progression of two newly born Morning Doves. It was fun but they made quite a mess so I decided to take down the now vacant nest and clean the place up. Little did I know that the nest was full of chiggers and within a few hours of the cleanup, I started to scratch. My wife who came out and watched also started to scratch at about the same time. Long story short, welts appeared indicating that we both were unsuspecting victims of these voracious little pests. Smaller than a human hair, these little guys love to bite you and put their saliva into your cells where it turns them into a highly edible feast, sort of like adding your favorite condiment to your favorite food. I digress here since many of you may believe that once these welts start itching, they have burrowed into your skin and this is false. Once the itching begins, they are long gone but their saliva condiment remains and this is what itches the begeezes for sometimes weeks thereafter. Warm showers soothes the itching but this Chigarid stuff really keeps your mind off of the bites while your body heals them [I am personally struggling with one nasty one on the side of my leg weeks after]. Some put on nail polish to remind you not to scratch but this stuff adds a bit more in the way of medicine and feels great. Well that's it folks, give this stuff a try and pardon me while I go finish sterilizing my sheets, pillows, comforter, and bed pad. You know something? I really don't like chiggers!

It stings a little when applied to irritated bites but not for long. Almost instantly the itching stops and the chiggar is killed. This product does not allow the chiggar to escape to another area and bite you again like some products do. Lately, I had a need for it again and so rummaged through a bunch of stuff and located it. Alas, it was long over its expiration date and nearly empty. Well, itchies are not fun, as anyone can attest. So, I did use what was left in the bottle and guess what? It STILL worked to quell those annoying chigger bites! I was duly impressed! So naturally, I then purchased a fresh supply.
