Good Trolling Motor for the Money.
This Haswing 12V 55lb thrust trolling motor is a good motor for the money. It seems fairly durable and easy to use. I bought the quick mount add-on and that’s a great improvement. Thrust seems to be about what I would expect from a 55lb motor. Design looks like it will last in our salt water bay. Only time will tell. My major complaint is that the foot control requires a lot of force to get the buttons to work. And even though the buttons are large, there is only a small area that will actually make the motor move. Then, the motor doesn’t move smoothly. It turns about 1/2 inch for each push on the button. But it turns more in one direction than the other, so I frequently need to push the left-turn button and then push the right-turn button to get the boat to go in the direction I want it to go. The remote control is easier to use because the buttons are easier to push, but they still turn the motor more to the left than the right, so I have to make frequent course corrections. Not the end of the world, but still annoying. However, still a good motor for the money. This cost about half of what I would have paid for a salt-water resistant Minnkota!
