No need to carry or use a rain-cover, as this bag is seemingly waterproof (or VERY water resistant, more so than the old bag). This bag also has waterproof zippers. It is a great upgrade to the 13L Shiloh I purchased in 2013. The bag was just as described and arrived timely. I don't know how that could be improved upon.
