In the distant future of a fantastic universe, a derelict spacecraft hurtles through space at thousands of miles an hour. It's ultimate destination: Earth. The collision of the humongous craft and your planet could be its downfall. To make matters worse, the ship has been overrun by Genestealers, a wicked race of DNA-sucking creatures that will kill any normal crew that tries to board.<br><br>Enter the Blood Angels, the heavily armed, mech-suited space marines of this fantasy future. You mission is to save the planet by overtaking this ancient ship back and rerouting it before it crash lands. As a member of an elite team, you will lead your troops into battle against the Genestealers, confident that you'll come out of this battle like every other battle with their brutal kind.<br><br>Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels is an update to the PC and 3DO Space Hulk games. It is based on the Warhammer 40K universe, a blending of far-flung science fiction and fantasy (think orcs with laser guns, and you get the idea.) While not a true sequel, this incarnation of Space Hulk offers updated graphics and an entirely new campaign.<br><br>While the meat of the game is a first-person shooter, it also includes tactical properties. Not only will you battle the Genestealers directly, but as commander of your crew of rough and tough marines, you'll also direct the missions from above. Using a map screen, you can command troop movements and regulate individuals to seek-and-destroy or covering roles. You will also be able to take control of any of your troops to take situations into your own hands.<br><br>To help you with this mission, you are given a small amount of "freeze" time at the beginning of each level. With this time, you can plan your tactics and order troops without having to worry about the genestealers attacking. Once you're out of this time, however, you'll have to do your commanding in real time, and anything can happen with your sharp-toothed enemies. In addition to dealing with multiple kinds of genestealers, the craft is also booby-trapped, which will make your missions that much harder.

    Practically Perfect! I'm so excited. There are two extremely MINOR markings on the outer box from probably things rubbing against it but barely noticeable. I will say, the only difference is that this is a REPRINT from the 80s and not printed in the 70s though that is the original publication date. Still completely satisfied b/c I didn't expect it to be an original print as it would have cost more and I don't collect for any future value. This is b/c this is the version I grew up reading.

    Sace Hulk

    Space Hulk for Sega Saturn is a very odd game. I stopped playing it after about 30 seconds because it kept switching between 2 different screens (a map/radar and a real time interface) and I began to feel dizzy. The meat of the game is wondering through corridors trying to avoid or kill large snarling dog like aliens. The graphics are ok for the platform but the movement is very stiff and uncoordinated. I did not give it much of a chance so this is about as far as my review can go.

    Warhammer!!!

    This game is based of the popular pen and paper RTS Warhammer 40,000 following the story of the space marines Blood Angels and the Genestealers. The game is a first person shooter, a little tactical actually. The game uses the DOOM engine or a modified buld of it with very well done sprite animations. So the graphics are actually petty decent for the time. The game is mostly about luck rather than skill. If a genestaler is behind you, there is no way to turn around and shoot it in time. Then there is the close combat sitsuations where there is a 70% chance of getting killed. The audio is pretty good and your teamates will alert you if they are under attack or an enemy is stalking you. The map screen and directing your troops when you get promoted is a mess.
