Absolutely a great movie! Like no other before nor as of the year 2021! I highly recommend this movie as it was intended from director “James Cameron” whom also wrote and produced this extraordinary film!

Made a mistake!
The Theatrical edition seems to be in 3D! I tried it on my video player and everything looks washed up, none of the vibrant colors the movie had on regular TV, I was VERY disappointed, I wished I had know before purchasing it, It was a waste of time and money!

Should've been called, "Return to Pandora", instead.
This movie was blown way too much out of proportion. Yes, the computer animation and cinematography were well done but the overall concept and content were average compared to previous films of similar nature. As the saying goes, "don't believe the hype", is also true of this movie. The title of this film isn't original and is plagerized from another that came years before it;Remember "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Since James Cameron released his film first, the true Avatar film now has to settle for it's subtitle "The Last Airbender". Congratulations on originality James Cameron and whomever titled this film before they did a thorough research.
Avatar
I'm a 60 year old kid. Avatar was a fantastic ride. The colors, the scenery, the characters-All were exciting and fun fun fun. With a 'smidgen' of reality mixed in to help the viewer move between worlds. With the special effect and visuals Avatar became a movie to see again and again simply for the "ride." Segourney Weaver (Grace) lends her brand of acting to the whole film. My first reaction was a flash-back to Alien etal. :) She had a ball acting in this film. A range of emotions so closely packed together gets the adrenalin to hold and mold the watcher. Military might is not always right, and letting corporate greed dictate policy is a recipe for disaster. Sam Worthington (Jake Sully) and Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) leads the fight against the "machine" wanting the minerals of this world. It so happens, where they live is right over the mother lode. Like the rain forest of south america, bulldozing the trees and the people off their land makes the residents fight back.
Ferngully for Adults
Have you ever seen Ferngully, the kids movie? This movie is virtually identical, only wrapped in an adult package. It is remarkably similar to Ferngully, right down to the giant bulldozer. I'd be embarrassed if I were Cameron, and if I owned the rights to Fergully I'd be thinking lawsuit. It's that close. The cinematography is great, and the sound track is fairly good. The characters in the story are so exaggerated to the point of being caricatures of normal military, science and business figures. The movie is okay, and entertaining enough that you probably wouldn't walk out of the theater in the middle, but that's about the best I can say about it. I only paid $3 used on EBay for it and I think it's worth about that much but nothing more. I could live without ever having seen it. But at $3 it's cheaper to buy than renting it on PPV, so if you want to watch it that's the way to go. 3-stars since I'm in a generous mood.
