Director Goro Taniguchi (INFINITE RYVIUS, S-CRY-ED) fashions another imaginative take on intergalactic space travel in his sci-fi series, PLANETES. In the year 2075, travel between the earth, the moon, and various space stations has become a routine part of human existence. But the increased traffic leaves behind floating pieces of debris that present a deadly hazard for traveling starships and must be cleared by a squad of hardworking debris collectors. As the collectors' newest recruit, idealistic Ai Tanabe quickly loses her enthusiasm for outer space when she joins the Half-Section unit and discovers that hauling in space debris is not only dull and monotonous--it's difficult and extremely dangerous. PLANETES avoids the wild, fantastical tropes of much sci-fi anime in favor of realistic hard science that emphasizes character development and gorgeously rendered animation. This sixth volume includes episodes 23 through 26.
