    Clear demonstrations, regular practice needed, won't make you a black-belt.

    This instructional DVD very clearly demonstrates the various techniques you can use for cane self-defense. The basic moves are especially straight forward, logical and fairly easy to master on your own with continuous practice, including the figure eight clearing move and the impressive looking exercise using two canes (eat your hear out, Xena). The more advanced techniques are clearly demonstrated, too. These, though will probably require more effort to learn on one's own. Indeed, taking a class in order to be able to regularly practice these moves with a partner would be very helpful. This video, alone, will not make you a black-belt of cane defense, but, with practice, can possible help you to become more than an equal match against a single mugger (or two if you're really good) armed ...
