I bought these figures for use inside a model structure where they would be seen but not closely examined. I was not expecting them to be up to the high standard set by companies like Preiser. Yet I was pleasantly surprised when I held the package in my hand and noticed how well cast and painted these little fellows really are.
For what I intended them to do, they will work well. However I would also be willing to use them in the foreground of my scenes. The poses are typical and everyday, as opposed to comical and attention-grabbing. I model the 1920s and these figures are appropriate for that era or earlier, especially the man with the broom and trash bin on wheels. In the horse-drawn era his job was very important.
My only criticism would be the painting. Some of the details are grossly overdone. For example, the man in the blue jacket has buttons which probably scale at 3 inches across. While this helps them show up at a distance, it does not hold up to scrutiny. If a modeler has the skill, this can be corrected with a fine brush and matching paint. These figures would also benefit from a dark wash to accent the shadows, and perhaps even an over-painting the highlight the details.
These figures turned out to be far better than I had expected. I recommend them.
