Great Camera that Takes Great Pictures
The ergonomics are not the best. It feels a little awkward in hand. The menu is a little frustrating. But that said, it is very capable. It takes great photos, has great features, is light weight, and at it's price is a no brainer! Is it perfect? No. Want perfect? Buy something that costs twice as much. Great camera for portraits but not wildlife
I was able to pick this eos R for 1k brand new so an amazing price for this body. I do ALL KINDS of photography. Mainly focused on portraits, wildlife and drone footage but also doing real estate, pet and family shoots. This camera takes care of all those EXCEPT wildlife.. the auto focusing is pretty spot on as long as you're not using it for Sinai tracking like birds. It suffers severely when shooting really fast moving subjects but thrives in real estate, landscape and portrait photography. For a grand this is a great body but get the r7 if you want something more suited to wildlife photography. I was able to pick this eos R for 1k brand new so an amazing price for this body. Terrific camera at a good price!
Image is terrific. It takes a little time to get used to after using the Canon 5d type cameras, but I felt comfortable after 2 hours or so. It is actually easier to use than my 5DSr. The new features are great!

I have been using digital SLR system since Canon introduced the Canon 10D. I've used almost every version as technology has moved up the ladder of improvements.I also have used the EOS M Series with the most recent being the M50. I like the EOS R -- it does not disappoint. I wish it had a slightly beefier feel on the grip but otherwise I have zero complaints -- I like the builtin WiFi and IOS app. I bought my camera through BuyDig and have to say it came with some very usable extras, lens adapter so I can keep using my many canon EF lenses -- 2 extra batteries, a fast memory card and more -- I certainly got my monies worth -- now what to do with my Canon 5D Mark II?
