    1st edition quite brilliant!!!

    Only a huge thumbs up for this CD. I got this because I had caught the recent BBC 4 documentary about the re-issue of the original Ardent recordings, which I then proceeded to order on vinyl, so I thought I should listen to this first by way of a future comparison. Apparently, in 1994 a commercial decision was made to totally remix the recordings. This is the first time I have heard either version, and boy is it good!!! In my humble opinion, it totally blows Sreamadelica away (heresy to say so, I know, but a hugely over-rated album - I thought so at the time and my opinion hasn't changed). One could say this is a throwback to late 60s/early 70s Stones, but the fast songs rock and the ballads are moving. On some tracks you don't seem to notice the remix; on others, they appear to work in ...
