Pros and Cons
My husband snores, and I dont hear him at all with these on. The app has good sounds which consists of white noise, ambient and nature sounds. It has plenty to choose from. The app itself can be difficult to figure out. It took me a while. The sounds have to be downloaded into the earbuds or it wont work. There is also a limit on how much can be downloaded or the app will tell you that you need to delete some sounds. Also, the earbuds have to be completely charged up or the app won't work. They last approximately 13 hours and take 6 hrs to charge. After complete charging, The buds also have to be completely removed from the case or the app will not work. Again, I do not hear my husband snore. I also can not hear if the security alarm system goes off. A burglar could enter the home and I would have no idea. Maybe this will be a Bluetooth improvement for the future? The buds are comfortable until about 5 am. I find my ears getting sore by then and I take them out. I still use them every night and believe they are worth the money.

decent effort by Bose, despite themselves
I already own the small and very good Bose blue-tooth speaker. That said, this product is quite decent. It's noise cancellation is just behind the Apple II airpods. The dozen or so ambient sounds are OK. I have bad tinnitus and it was difficult finding the right pitch with any of the provided ambient sounds, to help negate the tinnitus. The physical buds are nicely designed. The provided cable only charges from my laptop. WTF? I call Bose and their Google searched web number works but their automated service system doesn't. WTF? Then I call customer service and they won't answer even my most general questions without knowing my sleepbud's serial number. WTF. Apple sets a very high bar - in comparison, these folks are still minor league.

Case doesn’t charge
We got the sleepbuds II today. I was so excited as this is a gift for my husband. We went to plug them in and the case doesn’t even charge. :( We contacted Bose to find out that it is likely an issue with the case itself. How is something brand new in box broken already?? In the pics, the new one shows no lights lit up on the case. The second pic is my current set that works showing what the case should look like when charging. I guess this is what I get for trying to save a few dollars on the purchase.

One Trick Pony
I will have to admit that most of my disappointment stems from the fact that I didn’t realize these earphones only work with their special Blue Tooth software. The reason I bought them in the first place was to have the ability to listen to audio content as I slept, or more specifically was falling to sleep. But I was super surprised to learn that I couldn’t listen to my own music library, audio books, podcasts as you can with virtually every other ear bud on the planet. You are effectively constrained to the propriety lobby of audio files the have available in their propriety app - mostly environmental sound scapes you would expect from “sleep inducing” audio files very similar to “Rain” or related files on ITunes, Spotify, etc. My big question is WHY? Why would you put such a limitation on a very pricy set of ear buds. Why make it essentially a one trick pony? As for the one trick it does do - blocking out ambient noise with its inherent noise reduction technology, it seems to do just fine. I can’t really hear my snoring wife or snoring dog. The big problem for me was the fit of the actual buds in my ears. I loved the idea of buds you can sleep wearing, but these buds created pressure points that had my ears aching when I woke up in the morning. I’m sure this was not helped by the fact that I am a side sleeper so my ear (and thus the bud) is pressing into my ear. As for the sound itself? Nothing special, but then, it hard to tell when you can only play sound files as opposed to music. I really wanted to love this product, given the limitations mention above, it is a huge “swing and a miss.” I would be even more unhappy if I had paid the full whopping price at $250 (I paid less than half that for a factory refurbished set). So if you are a back sleeper who just wants to block ambient noise with “sleep sounds “ maybe they will work for you. But for me, they are over priced for an under-functioning hamstrung one trick pony.

Pricey item, but worth it to improve sleep quality.
They ended up being very comfortable. It took a bit to get used to sleeping with them in my ears, but I had little problems with them falling out. There is a good selection of sound and they cover up most of the noise that was disrupting my sleep even with good earplugs. I look forward though to future versions of the product that could do things like track your motion to report back on the quality of your sleep.
