This 10-disc box set collects all five original BBC adaptations of the Lord Peter Wimsey mystery stories. Based on the popular detective novels of Dorothy L. Sayers, the miniseries feature Ian Carmichael as title character Wimsey, an aristocratic gentleman in 1920s England who solves crimes among Britain's upper crust. Each of the five series is presented on two discs and include "The Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club" (1972), "The Nine Tailors" (1974), "Murder Must Advertise" (1973), "Five Red Herrings" (1975), and "Clouds of Witness" (1972). This is a great DVD - very interesting and enjoyable to watch; the main character of Lord Peter Wimsey, excellently portrayed by Ian Carmichael. The Dvd is SDH English subtitled, so you can understand read the words being spoken. The character of Harriet Vane is absent from this collection, but she is in the DVD complete collection ( Dorothy Sayers Harriet Vane/ Lord Peter Whimsy), with Harriet Walter & Edward Petherbridge ( portraying a younger, more romantic Lord Peter Wimsey), which is excellently portrayed by the main actor/actress. I have both complete collections on DVDs, and I thoroughly enjoy watching them often.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
