    Like spending time with old friends ,so entertaining.

    Love this series from years ago and so happy to now own a box set . Watch a few and so far working fine , quality is good although can be a little grainy at times . BBC are notoriously bad for that as everything was done on the cheap. But you can’t fault the quality of acting ,comedy and entertainment ,superb.

With the help of his perky beautiful funny wife and his entertaining neighbors, he manages to change their upper class home in a rich neighborhood to a self sufficiency farm.what he and his wife can't grow the barter for. When you "truly chance your arm" or stick your neck out you find out who your REAL FRIENDS are and just HOW MUCH YOUR SPOUSE REALLY LOVES YOU AND THE LIFE YOU VE CREATED. A VERY FUNNY BELIEVABLE COMEDY,VERY WELL CAST WITH ENDEARING CHARACTERS. WISH THEY WROTE SITCOMS LIKE THIS NOW.

    I first watched this series 30 years ago when it came on pbs once a week and fell in love with the plots and actors. It is still great. Having it on dvd to watch at my convenience is even better.

    No Subtitles, But Otherwise A Must-Have for the Collection

    Classic British television. Some moments that show its age, but most of the comedy holds up, and the characters are memorable. The only thing I fault it for is not having subtitles "for the hearing impaired" and those of us who aren't as attuned to British accents and idioms.
