This is a double feature: Empire of the Ants and Tentacles. Empire of the Ants is about an abitous land developer who buys an island and tries to sell resort property to prospected buyers. As the boat approach the island, the group is unaware the their every move is being observed. Huge, truck size ants give chase, terrorizing, attacking, and killing some of the group members. They soon become separated. This story takes a bizarre twist as the group is slowly herded to a large refinery. They are among others as each person comes face to face with the queen ant. I won't tell you the rest, you'll have to get the DVD. Tentacles: As the title explains, this one is about a gigantic octopus that terrorizes a seaside community. Of course, no one can figure out what are causing these deaths. A marine biologist discovers the truth and warns the mayor to shut down the beach. However, against the expert's advice, the town's largest event takes place, The children boat race gets underway. And of course, this thing attacks. Will the children be saved?? Get the movie and see. Both movies have great actors that pulled each sci-fi off Joan Collins, Robert Lasing, and John David Carson are in Empire of the Ants. and John Huston, Shelley Winters, Bo Hopkins, and Henry Fonda are in Tentacles.Read full review

Both movies were excellent, the monsters were great and some of the people running from the monsters were dumb as could be and got killed like they deserved and then some of them would not give up and lived through it all. It doesn't get any better than that ! I love monster movies, I watch them all the time, sure I have probably got brain damage from doing so, but what the heck, some brain damage is good for you. Other than me not being able to control the weird noises I make in the bathroom I have not noticed any major problems associated with watching those type of movies. I hope to save up the money to go out in the western part of the USA where they did those Atomic Bomb testing in the fifties and sixties and camp out to see if I can find some mutant insects or animals and get to live a real life monster mutant nightmare of my own. It is my destiny !Read full review

I enjoy having two movies together to enjoy--especially older sci-fi films.

I really love the older science fiction movies compared to what they come out with now. I have not been to a theater to see a movie in a long time. The new movies rely so much on blood and gore and the characters are not very believable. The acting is terrible. The Empire of the Ants and Tentacles are excellent classic sci-fi movies. I saw them many years ago and was delighted to find them available on DVD. Excellent movies for someone who enjoys adding these classics to their collection!

Well I bought this movie because I LOVE collecting old B movies. Empire of the Ants was not one of Joan Collins most shining moments but it was a decent old horror flick. Not much to dislike about the movie because you cant really dislike a movie that is so goofy and campy. The second feature on this DVD on the other hand I couldn't even finish watching. It was pretty bad in B movie standards. All the scenes with the creature are so dark you can see anything and half way through I just plain got tired of it. Over all the DVD was worth it just for the Ants.
