    You can tell this charger has been layin...

    You can tell this charger has been laying on the shelf for a long time. Rubber insulation around the wires was covered in white powder like substance and very brittle due to its age. Insulation started to crack immediately after use and now most of it is gone from the end of the cable where it bends often.

    Good design for in-car charging

    Sturdy construction with desirably snug fit in 12-volt outlet delivers good power for charging. Cord emerging from side of charger keeps cord lying neatly along surface of dash and console. Coiled cord reduces clutter and still allows convenient choices for positioning. Ring of white illumination on charger body shows when 12-volt outlet is delivering power, avoiding confusion about when phone is actually charging. Illumination is sufficient to aid in handling phone when car interior is otherwise dark. This older model has superior design to new versions. Too soon to evaluate durability, but build quality is encouraging.
