Some of the best parts of the Harry Potter books are the rich descriptions of the holiday feasts at the Great Hall. With this book, your kids can make Harry's favorite dessert (treacle tart, of course). They can make the mince pies that Mrs. Weasley sends Harry every Christmas, and the pumpkin pasties from the Halloween feast scene I loved reading as a kid. They can even make Mrs. Dursley's pudding--the one Dobby destroys in the beginning of The Chamber of Secrets. As long as you don't mind your kids going down the weird meat-pie, haggis, and Scotch collop-filled path that is the world of British food, this book is sure to be a hit., "If your kids love Harry Potter, nothing is going to inspire them to get in the kitchen like this cookbook. Christmas gift hit!

Bought for my grandson- big Harry Potter (& cooking) fan. Wide range of recipes, easy to follow directions, LOTS of choices. He had asked me for a paper clip, and had his first choice marked 5 minutes after opening his gift.

  • Top critical review

No pictures to go with the recipes

Since it is an Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook, it has its pluses and minuses. One of the plus features is that each recipe includes the Harry Potter book and Chapter that the recipe foods are referenced. The pages are made to look aged. Disclaimer is right on the cover that it is not licensed or authorized by J.K. Rowling or Warner Bros. One of the minus issues is there are no pictures (not even drawings of the foods). It is okay for an English recipes book.

  • Great for harry potter fans!

Great, informative cook book. It not only has great recipes from different foods served in the series, but each recipe has a description of when the recipe was used in the Harry Potter series. Would highly recommend.

  • Harry Potter Cookbook

It arrived quickly and in fabulous condition! We have tried a few recipes already and have had a blast. It is more British cuisine than magical potions and such but she references lost of HP moments from the books and makes it fun.
