Exactly as I hoped
The tapes sound great. They have really low noise, and they have a great frequency reaponse. I am new to playing with cassettes, so I can't reliably comment on "midrange magic" compared to TDK Type IVs or some chrome tapes or anything, but I can say they keep the cymbals intact and smooth and present. On the bottom, they have a rich, bloomy bass that is looser than the LPs - but that could be my dual-well Technics deck. They add a little lo-fi magic to the midrange in terms of gluing sounds together, but not at the expense of losing much detail. I look forward to checking out chrome tapes next!
