Omega Quintet mixes elements of traditional RPGs with pop-idol simulations as gamers control Verse Maidens who use music and dancing to fight evil. The world has been overrun by a malevolent phenomenon known as Blare, which has slowly eaten away the minds of most of humanity and left only a few thousand people alive in a lone city. The Maidens are the only beings capable of combating the Blare, using songs and dances to defeat monsters in turn-based battles. Gamers take on the role of Takt, who serves as a bodyguard and manager and can head into battle with five Maidens at his side.<br><br>Players guide their characters around a variety of large field maps, where they can explore and engage enemies in combat. Each of the five main Verse Maidens also has a special Field Action that can help unlock new areas, grab items, and find hidden treasure. While in battle, gamers can choose from Attack or Support commands, and if the Maidens each perform a turn in order, they can join forces to unleash powerful Harmonics combo attacks. Takt cannot attack beasts directly, but he can be paired with Maidens to slow down and shield attacks.<br><br>The battles in Omega Quintet are treated like concerts and broadcast throughout the city in an attempt to provide hope for the dwindling citizenry. Audience engagement and tension levels have a direct impact on battles, and often swing dramatically as the Maidens' outfits begin to disintegrate. When the Maidens need a break from combat, players can head to their base to change hairstyles, accessories, and outfits.Product Identifiers

The only true turn based RPG on the system
I'm a huge fan of the old school turn based JRPG's. Think old Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and the like. Idea Factory is about the only company putting out these types of games anymore. Square has moved more into the Action RPG genre. I had 50 hours into the digital copy I had gotten on sale, and wanted a physical release. This is an old school RPG, so expect to do some grinding. The graphics are good, the game runs at 60 FPS, and there's enough wrinkles in the battle system to keep it from getting boring. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an old school RPG. One of the most under-rated games I've ever played
Distinguishing from other Idea Factory/Compile Heart games, the maps on this game are big, but the save spots can teleport you another save spot, making quite easier to back-track. Every single boss battles, it has different songs, songs that are really amazing, not to mention the rest of the game has a good OST. I really wish that this game has a Jukebox to listen them, cause is really awesome. I honestly don't know what else should I say, but I loved this gameVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
