    Good receiver for the money; sounds fine

    My old Pioneer A/V receiver went out on me and since I have an Onkyo phono/CD amp, I decided to get this one. It's a good product although it only powers at 80 watts per channel. That's enough for my small house. I didn't pay enough attention to the subwoofer hookup and ended up buying another subwoofer so I could have one that worked with the receiver. The unit also handles my Blu Ray player quite well. This unit is also for 4K, but I don't have a 4K TV. The speaker setup was pretty straight ahead and seems to have worked well. Good sound balance. That said, this receiver is a good value for the money and all of them cost nowadays.

    Very nice receiver - really like the ARC feature!

    Be sure that you have good High-Speed HDMI cables! Using older HDMI cable caused me a little confusion, the receiver in standby mode would come out of passthrough mode on the ARC port (basically turn off) and the TV would lose signal. Restarting the receiver would recover the TV signal, but after turning the receiver back off, it would turn loose signal a few minutes later. New 4k High-Speed HDMI cables resolved the issue.
