Yep, Like the title says. I broke it before I even touched it with a case! Snapped the chamfer bit right off!! Threaded part was flush with the surface so since I am a handy feller I grabbed my snap on extractor kit drilled a hole in the snapped off part and lightly tapped an easy out into it and got the broken piece out of the machine. Welded the threaded part back on to the chamfer head and used it but ordered one from another manufacture. I didn't realize the lack of customer support Frankford Arsenal has. As far as I know they don't even offer replacement cutter heads, at least I found it easier to buy one from another supplier than to even find a FA one. The machine works very nicely although it could be a bit quieter. For the money I paid I expected a bit better quality, but it sure beats a lot of other methods for doing the same job.Read full review

I haven't had time yet to do anything except inspect the item and go through the setup procedure before initial use. The unit seems very well built with a heavy case and motor. The trimmer parts/chamfer tools seem very sharp and of good quality, same with the primer pocket tool(s). It seems a little complicated to setup for the proper trim length, but this may not be true in real operation. The unit uses about 6 aluminum "wafers", that almost appear to be washers, but one side is tapered. you choose the wafer that allows the cartridge to fit through it's center hole to about the middle of the shoulder. This becomes your reference point or depth stop when you insert your brass. Once you have the brass in the wafer you adjust the cutter head forward to give the proper depth of cut, then you lock it down. After it is set, it is a simple matter of turning on the machine and pushing each brass into the machine for trimming. It looks as if it will be a pretty high production rate machine once set. The cutter head itself is hard to see and although it has markings for depth of cut adjustments, I haven't found the reference mark on the machine used to calibrate just how much you are moving it when adjusting it. The marks do represent as small as a .0025" incremental adjustment tho, so all may work out just fine. At this point I am satisfied that the unit will perform for hunting type loads, but may not be accurate enough for long range cartridge builders.Read full review

This trimmer and case prep toll is by far the best solution to the most dreary and slow task that faces reloading rifle brass. Setting up was pretty simple, although it took my several tries to get the trim depth correct for the .223 cases I tried it out on. But the speed at which you can do hundreds of cases is remarkable. Insert case like you do a pencil in an auto sharpener and then once it’s trimmed you can chamfer the inside and outside of the case right there. This is far so ahead of using hand driven trimmers it is ridiculous. Turned a job I dreaded into on that is manageable and efficient. Best 154.00 I have spent on reloading equipment. Shipping was one week. I highly recommend.

Works well, some cartridges with different neck sizes will come out shorter or longer, but if all are the same brand works well without adjusting. Motor is enclosed, less chance of dirt, shavings falling in. An additional auxiliary port attachment for a brush would be a great addition. Thanks

Looks may be deceiving. I thought it seemed to be a little cheap when I first opened up the package. However, after using it, I think it is just fine. It is slick and works great. A few of my buddies talked me into buying this prep center and I am very happy I did. It saved so much time the first time I used it. Makes reloading (prepping brass) much more enjoyable. I don't have to worry about batteries going bad and it trims brass much faster than the youtube videos I watched. After measuring case length after trimming, it seems to be very precise as well. This is a top notch product and I will/ AM recommending this prep center to anyone that will listen.

It is an excellent idea and it is a fast and easy way to prepare cases. Unfortunately there is a lack of quality control and the internal and external chamfer tools had a bent shaft and therefore rotated in an elliptical movement. Whilst Frankford Arsenal replaced both tool heads only the internal replacement was perfect, the external was even more bent than the one originally supplied. With better quality control this would be an outstanding and pleasurable product to use.

I purchased the machine to process brass for sale. I have discovered that production rates are much too low to make it pay though so I just use it for my personal reloading... On rifle brass the trim lengths will vary slightly as the machine spaces off the shoulder and different guns have different angles in their chamber.... Usually I get within 5 thousandths case length though and that works for me... The machine is very solid and I am happy I bought it....

this case trimmer/prep center is very well made, powerful, has several position settings, and is very affordable!

A great idea but it should be able to do straight wall cases like 45-70 etc. and this is why I am only giving 4 stars. pocket cleaners should be brushes not drill bits. Hopefully a bushing for this can be made and then gets 5 stars.
