Notes
The surprise album from the German electronic pioneer scientists surfaced in 1981, three years after their final monumental "Trans Europe Express" album. In the US, they shifted gears by electing to record for Warner Bros after many years with EMI (where they remained outside the US). "Computer World" was a revelation in that the band's sound was so totally refined and perfected, sounding almost other worldly for the times....and that notion still holds true on listening to it today, as the tracks seem to have a cryogenic quality to them, sound fresh and modern. The flow and sequence of the songs is like an elaborate electronic symphony that is playful, intense, tongue in cheek and ultimately exhilarating.

It was Canada issue not Japanese version without the Bonus track so that’s a bummer. But I still decided to keep it since I didn’t have a Canadian version. But I still wish it had the bonus track. Oh well.

  • Best Kraftwerk album...highly recommended

I you only bought one Kraftwerk album, this would be my recommendation. The album is timeless and can be played all the way through without having to skip for less decent tracks.

  • Great sound

I've owned the cassette of Kraftwerk Computer World since the 1980's and it still works. I wanted to listen to Computer World on my MP3 player so this is was perfect way to do it. The sound on the CD is like quadrophonic just as with the cassette tape. Every track sounds new every time I listen to it. I hear today's music in this CD even though it was recorded in the 1980's. Listen to it with a good sound system and the depth of sound and mixing comes through. Uno Dos Tres Quatro means totally amazing music. I wish Kraftwerk did another album that matched this one. The version I am reviewing has 7 tracks on it from 1981. I see there is a CD available of Computer World from Canada with an 8th music track.

  • A must have for Kraftwerk fans.

CD was brand new and in shrink wrap. Played perfectly. Back of CD case had a crack across it.

  • Computer originated music unlike music today.

Kraftwerk is not like any groups currently. It is machine music but way different than anyone else.
