Right for the job.
The one I bought is to replace one that was defective, but the seller (not the manufacturer) would not exchange. The first one had a display that was completely illegible at times, would flicker and be somewhat legible from the proper angle, and sometimes work just fine. It also had problems with occasionally making partial or bad copies, which leaves seven DVDs in the reject pile. I have others from the same manufacturer that are great, so it was just a bad unit that got through their quality control department. It happens. Just make sure that you buy it from a reputable source. The good; It does it's job, and does it well. It is relatively easy to install. for the most part, the units lasted for five years, duplicating about 500K DVDs. It has a connector for an HDD. Is of good quality and has a nice appearance. The bad; The SATA connectors are on the top, and are in three rows. I don't know how else you could build it other than a single row side by side for the target drives, them put the connectors for the source drive and HDD drives separate. The problem with the current configuration is that while it is easy to connect the SATA cables to the controller outside of the unit, you have to try to follow the cables drive by drive inside the unit, so either tag the cables, or make the controller the very top unit in the duplicator. Not a major bad thing, and probably not feasible to build it any other way, but it is a nuisance for those of us that are anal and want everything to be easy! Overall, the good far outweighs the bad, and I have not seen any other duplicator controller that have been able to fix the bad! For me, I would have to say that it is the best unit out there for the price. Working the production department of a world wide ministry on a small budget, price versus quality is important!
