    The item came unblemished luckily. I cant believe you packed such a delicate item in just a bubble envelope. A guitar pickup was simply in the plastic bag the manufacturer puts it in and then in a bubble envelope. It could have been packed much better for cheap. Thats why i docked one star.

    Humbuckers to Filtertron.

    I swapped out the humbucker in a double cut LP copy with a Gretsch Filtertron it wasn't easy to install but it was wirth the work. If you are brsve enough to mod your guitar a little I think the sound makes up for it. This pickup is a beast it is wide open and makes a old common axe sound awesome. I had to carve out a little in the neck pocket and fabricate a bracket to mount the filtertron and fill in around the pickup with some black fian rubber but the pickup trim fit back on and it looks great.

    Authentic Gretsch sound!

    Replaced the TV Jones Power Trons in my Gretsch Power Jet with these pickups, and no I am not crazy. Now the guitar sounds like it should, like a Gretsch. If I want something that sounds like a Les Paul, I'll grab a Les Paul. These pickups are very low output, but the clarity is amazing even at high gain settings. I can't believe the difference! I was looking for a change, but never expected such a dramatic improvement!

    That GREAT Gretsch Sound!

    This is the same pickup that is standard in most of the current production big bucks Gretsch guitars. Some people prefer these to TV Jones Filtertrons. I replaced the stock ceramic Filtertrons in my '89 Silver Jet with these and they are a little sweeter sounding. The ceramics are actually a pretty decent sounding pup. But, the HS sound more authentic to my ears. Surprisingly enough, they are actually higher output. It's usually opposite, with ceramics typically having a hotter ouput. Very impressive and the cost is super reasonable.

    Really good pickups, highly underrated!

    I bought two sets of these to replace the Broadtrons in two of my Gretsch guitars. What an improvement! They have good clarity and definition with chime...and warm but not at all muddy. There is an excellent YouTube review of a Gretsch G5230 with these pickups... by Shane of In The Blues posted this morning. I tried to paste the link here but pasting did not work. Sorry.

    Gretsch HS Filtertron neck pu

    I build and modded many guitars, the gretsch HS Filtertron is one of my go to pickups. Great price from Angela music, just wish they had the bridge pu in stock as well I would have bought both from them
