    Avoid trouble, download the Seagate toolkit. Then it's smooth sailing.

    haven't had enough time to judge the drive. That takes years. I am writing the review to make buyers aware of the fact that if they buy a Seagate drive they should download Seagate toolkit from Seagate support. I had trouble getting my computer to see the drive and later had trouble getting the drive to partition at the full 4TB. The toolkit solved all my questions very quickly and the drive is working fine. Frankly the drive was more of a pain than I expected. One would expect a SATA drive to be plug and play. It wasn't but all is well that ends well. Seagate support was willing to help even in the hours near the holiday, very friendly. The toolkit is very easy to use and covers all bases although Seagate has additional drive utilities that look interesting. Downloaded them but ...

    Not a 7200RPM drive! 5900RPM.

    Please be warned that this product is falsely advertised as a 7200RPM drive as of the writing of this review. In fact, the drive I received was a 5900RPM drive. I asked for a partial refund but the seller said they could only do a full refund (which given the cost and trouble of return shipping would not be worthwhile). I am not sure why, as I have received a partial refund from another seller when the product was not as described. Buyer beware!

    Bad, bad, baad

    Very very long copy duration (you can see it in attached test result files). 1.91 Tb information copied on your disc more than 55 hours - it is awful result. In test I used sata connection in new high perfomance work station

    Seagate ST4000DM004

    Drive is thinner and lighter than a regular 3.5 " internal hard drive. It is very quiet, runs cool and is fast. The price is very good too for 4 TB.
