Synopsis
Excerpt from Memorials of Service in India: From the Correspondence of the Late Major Samuel Macpherson, C. B First Years of Indian Service - Jalnah Secunderabad - The Nilgherry Hills. These memorials tell of a barbarous race won over from dark and cruel rites; and of an important Indian State rendered in the hour of need a mainstay of the Empire, when its defection would have involved that of every Native Power. They show how these objects were attained through the benevolence, the sagacity, and the firmness of an officer whose name is almost unknown to the British public, but whose earnest desire was that good men should think well of him. They may also serve to convey to the reader some idea of the labours and anxieties of Indian Political life. Samuel Charters Macpherson, the second son of Dr. Hugh Macpherson, Professor of Greek in the University of Aberdeen, and of his first wife Anne Maria Charters, was born on the 7th January 1806, at King's College, Old Aberdeen. - s***s (18)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseSeller was fine, arrived promptly with good packaging and in perfect condition. But I should have asked questions about the book. It is really just a recreation of a collection of pages from old catalogues. I was hoping for more information & history of some of the Chickering models. This was not worth $18 to me. Would have been helpful if the seller had given examples of some pages.

Thank you for the great communication and customer service. It looked exactly like the description and I'm pleased with the value of it. Thanks for producing a quality product that is almost impossible to find now. Most of all, thanks for making it right when it was wrong. The Writings and Speeches of Grover Cleveland (Classic Reprint) (#135167120478)
