Synopsis
Excerpt from The Poems of Walter Savage Landor The hard task of an editor He has not to celebrate his author - does Landor need praise of mine? He has to justify his own existence - to explain, as best he may, the obtrusion of his prose. My volume is professedly of Selections from poems. I must make it clear that some principle has guided that selection. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. There is little to say that has not been said, and to the last word I do not aspire. The "last word" of criticism, my friend Mr. Birrell very shrewdly says, may be left to the "last man." It has been my wish to do something to bring the poetry of Landor within reach of the public, but here my desires have an end. I have not the showman's art. To preface a great author, to take the chair for a great speaker - to do these things to the admiration of practised editors, and incurable chairmen, requires an ampler prose than mine. If silence were really golden, as (sufficient) speech is silver, how gay were this paper life! About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Seller was fine, arrived promptly with good packaging and in perfect condition. But I should have asked questions about the book. It is really just a recreation of a collection of pages from old catalogues. I was hoping for more information & history of some of the Chickering models. This was not worth $18 to me. Would have been helpful if the seller had given examples of some pages.

The first item was not right. The seller made it right. New item received in great condition. Thank you for the great communication and customer service. It looked exactly like the description and I'm pleased with the value of it. Thanks for producing a quality product that is almost impossible to find now. Most of all, thanks for making it right when it was wrong.
