The phase detection auto focus causes odd anomalies, with things like banding. At high ISO the noise is large, much worse than the still amazing S1H. The noise at high ISO's is more like Sony cameras, including the A7SIII. A used S1H is about the same price, maybe less. Even the IBIS stabilization on the S1H is better. The S5IIX can record excellent data rates to an external USB-C port, but that eliminates using Panasonic's fabulous Lumix Tether Software, as it needs the USB-C port to work. Might not seem like an issue, unless you ever plan to do a multicam shoot. Also if your going to plug things in, you might use an Atomos Ninja V+ recorder, to do 6K ProRes RAW, which both cameras need for that quality level. So if you really need slightly better autofocus, the S5IIX, maybe better than an S1H. But for the best image quality in 2023, the S1H is Netflix approved for a reason, it's one of the best cameras made.Read full review

Love this camera so much I bought 2. It’s a game changer, I could go on and on, but the flexibility of the log profile, open gate recording, shutter angle, all the exposure tools, ibis, great lenses available, phase detect auto focus, and works perfectly with all my EF glass with the sigma mc-21 adapter, absolute no brainer! Love it!
