    Gutsy film that is gut-wrenching. Not for the faint-hearted. Well done and thought-provoking

    A rape victim seeking justice. A young woman is gang-raped in a bar. But charging the perpetrators with rape may not be a good idea because, frankly, the young woman may well have been asking for it. Does dressing and acting provocatively mean that you deserve to get raped? This film addresses the moral issues attached to rape very effectively, and features excellent performances from Kelly McGillis as the District Attorney tasked with pursuing the line most likely to meet with success, and Jodie Foster as the victim. Jodie Foster sears the screen as a gang-rape victim. The rape scene is self is brutally staged but unfortunately that what was needed here.     Jodie deserved the Oscar! Great talent!!

    First off I admit I'm biased; I own just about all her movies no matter how small her part. She did a fantastic job portraying the range of emotions a woman must feel in that situation. The rest of the cast did an amazing job as well. Edge of your seat kinda movie. Sad that our society has gotten so brutal and uncaring; and that was 20 years ago. Today it might end up on utube.
