“This is a stunning quality pair of rare antique English Victorian oak desk / library armchairs, circa 1860, which have been newly upholstered in top quality brown leather, in excellent condition. The chairs are in excellent overall condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frames, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair frames have been cleaned, glued and French polished in our workshop; therefore, they boast a stunning rich colour and patination and are sturdy. The seats have been newly upholstered in top quality full grain brown leather, finished with deep-buttoning, and brass studs to the perimeter. The seats incorporate new springs including the traditional horsehair filling, with a hessian underside. The chairs stand on their original legs and feature solid brass cup castors (which are in good condition). The chairs are well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.”
