One of the best heart-touching music album for those who truly listen.
This is a 2003 album of the phenomenal Billy Gilman's special tribute to the brave and inspirational Mattie J.T. Stepanek who unfortunately died a year after the release of this album due to Muscular Dystrophy. This is a heart-touching, country vocal album full of 12 heartsongs. I bought this album because Billy Gilman is an extraordinary singer who sings songs that relate to everyone in the world. His songs not only include his angelic voice but also touch the hearts of many people who listen deeply to what Billy Gilman has to say. A person who is passionate about music like i am would know that music that touch people's hearts are the best music to offer in the world and a must-have. I really love this product because of similar reasons to above. It has music that really connects with the heart of those who choose to listen to what Billy Gilman has to offer. Billy Gilman has many more albums and this is one of the best in terms of touching people's heart as it relates to everyone. This is also a special album with music that are structured uniquely. The music do not restrict themselves to song-structure but some follow text structure. For example, poems, which are what music from this album are based on, do not have choruses/stanzas that are repeated. I really love this album and i honestly cannot think of what i dislike about this album. This album is different to other albums as it is by Billy Gilman, who loves to sing music that relate to everyone, hence, touching the hearts of people. This album is also special as mentioned above, because it is composed by following the structure of the poem (some have no choruses). This album can be highly commended for it's heart-touching music and it belongs to the top rated albums. I highly recommend this album for anyone who loves heart-touching music, people who listen closely to the deep meaning behind music and/or people who just enjoy music in general.
Good Message, Horrible Music
While this album has a wonderful message of hope and peace, inspired by the poems of Mattie Stepanek, the music to it is absolutley awful. Gilman is supposed to be a country singer and the music is pop/rock/Carribean/Hindu/New Age sounding all in one weird, annoying mix. The lyrics are also corny. The over all album isn't exactly what I would call easy listening in a car ride home from work or school. It would be utterly embarrassing to be caught listening to this corny music. Yes, the message the album delivers is beautiful, but the music and lyrics are just...not meant to be sang.
Beautiful tribute to a young poet put to music.
This is very moving as one can hear the late Mattie Stepanek's voice and then hear Billy sing - a beautiful combination.
Billy Gilman is just an awesomwe singer. The Songs in the truly are heartfelt from Mattie. I loved that kid. They both had inspired me to become apart of MDA.
