    Moonrise Kingdom (Blu-ray Disc, 2012) Wes Anderson

    I feel this film is among his top 5 to date. Not the very best, but has all the Anderson hallmarks. Whimsical narration, great cinematography, a lot of character actors sharing a multifaceted storyline than a certain lead actor upstaging everyone else. I liked it better the second time around, as I believe my expectations were too high when I saw this in the theatre, but I was not disappointed. Moonlight Kingdom stands on it's own as a film, as it's really not quite like other Anderson films, although the styling certainly is. Perhaps you could say that about them all. It's very lighthearted even at it's most serious. The Blu-ray picture quality is very detailed and I am happy with the audio. Ive always enjoyed Anderson soundtracks.     I would recommend this (and any Wes Anderson Movie, my 2nd favorite being The Budapest Hotel) for people who want a different type of movie making. Anderson has his own style and it is not "Hollywood". The movie itself is a movie about two kids and as typical; there is an Orphan. Well done. Watch it IF you like the off-beat.
