Spend some time with a Swedish treasure!
Dvds were in perfect condition. Clearly a Wallander follower collected these and I have no complaints and a couple of weekdays joyously spent in front of the telly. I've been following scandi film for the last few years and this set is happiness in a box. Great characters, lovely ocean and countryside scenes, and the never-ending rain and snow. It is good...but not as good as the Branagh series
I enjoyed it. But I enjoyed the Branagh product more. This just didn't relate quite as well... probably because it got a little too predictable and concentrated on fewer people. I also never like the attitude that whenever anything doesn't go well that they must react by drinking alcohol. Totally addictive
Kurt Wallander and his crew are sharp as tacks while being touchingly human. All the regulars are folks you'd love to have as friends. The episodes, much more than your basic murder mysteries, grapple with current social issues, as well as the treacherous tangle of human greed, pride, lust, and insanity. Top Notch Series!
I first watched Wallander on PBS & fell in love with it, so I was absolutely delighted to be able to procure this excellent series. I enjoyed it just as much re-watching it on DVD as the first time. The quality is pretty good for an older show. Bravo!!! There are couple of other shows that I'm praying for at a reasonable price in Region A... The best of the Wallander shows by far!
There are some British versions of this series and there are a lot of them which seems to indicate many followers but I have to say it is hard to believe anyone could find them half as engaging as this Swedish series despite having to deal with subtitles! If you never watched this first set, please do yourself a favor and get the disks and watch them. Later series goes down hill rapidly so do not bother much with season 2 or 3. However season 1 is a continuing delight and we watch over again every six months or so when bored with other detective shows.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The price is right.
The seller explained that it's an ex-library copy and has scratches, but the price was right. I've only watched one episode so far (I'd previously seen them all on Netflix), and it played fine. Whether or not all seven discs will play remains to be seen. In any case, I love the Swedish Wallander series and enjoy watching them again. The characters are interesting and well played.
