    Finally got an E-Reader

    Reading books via the Kindle app on an iPhone or iPad is not great. Too many distractions, too heavy to hold for long periods. The Oasis feels just right and is the correct tool for the job. Two small frustrations with the one I bought: no charger and the device smells faintly of cigarettes. I asked specifically if it was a non-smoking home and was told “This is a smoke-free home.” Which may be true but this Kindle likely came from outside the home and was simply resold by the eBay vendor. He should’ve been upfront about that. Perhaps a better question to ask is “Does this item smell of cigarettes or other odors?” It seems someone tried to Febreze this Kindle but the odor lingers. I am an ex-smoker and I can’t be around that cigarette smell anymore. Hopefully, this odor will dissipate ...

    Awesome Upgrade

    This was actually a 10th gen - which is great as it has the warm screen light which is great for nighttime and airplane rides. Much faster than my old paperwhite from 2014 and I like the 7" screen. It's not pocketable but the page turn buttons fall under your thumb while you're holding it, certainly an ergonomic upgrade.
