    Still Funny As Ever

    The Smothers Brothers Show still stands up after all these years. Took me right back to those Sunday nights. Incredible guest stars and Tom & Dick's flippant sense of humor that always had them apologizing the next week for things they said or did on the previous Sunday's show. In the late 1960's they were trying to help the viewing audience break away from mindless television and see how ridiculously wrong things were in the country and the world. They did it with humor, and sometimes they just did it looking directly into the camera and giving it to everyone straight. It was a better approach, I believe, and it's a kick to look back and see these shows again. Entertaining, yes. But more than that.

    Funny Men is the Smothers Brothers

    The Smothers Brother Comedy Hour Season 2 is GREAT. It was as funny now as back then. To back CBS didn't like them as we did back in the 60's. I wish they could have their show now, but this will have to do.
