WOW!!!! TERRIFIC READ!!!!
This book grabs you from the first page & never lets you go. It comes out of the gate in full swing. I by accident read Pray for Silence first, a little backwards, but it still didn't spoil the effects this book had on me. What a fantastic read, can't wait for more in this series. This was my first time ever reading this author, but if she keeps writing this series, I'll always be back.

Page turner, period! (spoiler alert)
Definitely a page turner but that's about all it's got going for it in our opinions. We're not fans of first person story telling and even less of the first person present tense story telling that this author employs. Exploitation of women by any author but especially a female author is a turn off, too, and that's what's happened in this book as far as we're concerned, including the protaganist who ended up having to be rescued by a male associate when she was on the verge of being raped and murdered, even though she's by her own often expressed opinion, an experienced policewoman. Maybe with that mind set Castillo should go back to romance novels.

Wonderful story line and a can't put down mystery.
I thought this was a great book and very easy to stay with. Didn't drag and the characters were very human and interesting. I did figure out who the "bad guy" was, but still wanted to finish and make sure she got the guy. Was not disappointed since I had read her second book first and then followed up with the first one. Did not really want an ex-library book, but did fine with it. Would suggest to anyone who likes a good mystery and liked main character alot.
