Accepting credit and debit cards

In today's ecommerce landscape, shoppers expect to be able to check out and pay on the site where they're shopping.

When selling in most categories on eBay, if you’re enrolled in managed payments, buyers will be able to pay with credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal. If you’re not a managed payments seller, and you wish to offer buyers a way to pay online with a credit or debit card, then you must accept PayPal.

All of these methods are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

Managed Payments on eBay

If you’re currently enrolled in managed payments on eBay, eBay will manage the end-to-end payments experience for you. You will not need to select any payment method when creating your listings, as they'll automatically be updated to reflect all the ways your buyers can pay.

Your buyers will be able to safely and securely pay with credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal, and complete their entire transaction on eBay, with the option to save and store their credit card for future use. Their experience will be just like other online retailers and they will not see or experience eBay's processor in checkout. With payments managed by eBay, you and the buyer are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

Non-managed payments sellers on eBay

If you’re not currently enrolled in or eligible for managed payments on eBay, when selling in most eBay categories, you're required to accept PayPal. When you accept PayPal, buyers can check out online using credit cards, Visa or MasterCard debit cards, or their PayPal account. Both you and the buyer are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

When you accept payment through credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Paypal, you are covered by our seller protection policy.
