My grandfather was a London cabbie for forty years, who specialised in butterflies. Every Sunday he’d have his cards out, spread across the dining room table – it drove Grandma mad. All the different species of butterfly. Bright, beautiful, impressive - “regal” he called them. By summer the garden was bursting with every kind. The huge amounts of buddleia and origanum vulgare apparently kept them very happy.
