About Yamaha YZ250

The view from the top may be glorious, but heavy is the head that wears the crown. The Yamaha YZ250 is the yardstick against which other 250 cc motocross bikes are measured and it is constantly evolving to keep its crown. With multiple Supercross and Motocross titles under its belt, the bike is no longer the scrawny contender that was unveiled in 1974. It packs a 250cc water-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke case reed engine that produces 49 horsepower. To ensure that it handles excellently even on the roughest roads, it has a five-speed transmission, high-performance monoshock suspensions with generous travel, and double-disc brakes. The engine in the YZ250 got its most radical changes in the early 1980s. While the 1981 Yamaha YZ250 has an engine from the original model, it was soon to get a better replacement. The engine in the 1984 Yamaha YZ250 model has a smaller bore and a longer stroke. The result is a lower redline and a much-improved torque at low revs. Experience the raw power and thrilling lightweight handing of the Yamaha YZ250 when you pick up one among the wide selection of dirt bikes offered by reputable sellers on eBay.
