Victor records have a flat disc design that made them easy to make in the same manner of a printing press. These records could only be played on the Victor phonograph, also known as the Victrola. You don't have to be an audiophile to appreciate what the sound quality of records playing on the phonograph. The scratchy sound gives it a unique appeal that can't be replicated on modern digital formats. The only phonographs by Victor were designed for use with records made prior to 1935. While it would be fun to listen to your vintage Led Zeppelin album on the antique record player, such records were not made of the same materials or same thickness as the old Victor records.
