About Timing Chains

The combustion cycle in an engine is the most basic of the interactions that make an engine work. The timing chain connects the camshaft and crankshaft so that they work in tandem to carry out this process. If your SBC timing chain is in need of repair, there are certain symptoms that can occur, including a rattling noise in the engine, the engine running roughly or stalling, and the "check engine" light coming on. In some cases, it may actually be the timing chain tensioner that you have to replace. This part works to ensure that there is the right amount of tension for the timing chain. Loss of power, a squealing noise, and the vehicle simply not starting are all signs that you may need to replace your tensioner. If you need a timing chain or any of the associated parts, you can search through the ones available on eBay and have them delivered, so you do not have to drive your vehicle until the issue is resolved.
