About Street Rod Cars

You know that time of year when several of the downtown streets in your area are blocked off, and as you pass by you realize it is the hot rod car show. Another reminder of your desire to own a street rod car. These classic American cars with their large engines designed for linear speed tend to be well cared for, and perfect for showing off to other car enthusiasts. Ford and Chevrolet are the two biggest competitors in the hot rod arena, so most of the cars used in car shows are one of those two. Ford hot rods tend to come from the Model A line, which were originally produced in 1928 to replace the Model T cars. Most Model A show cars have a V-8 engine, automatic transmission, and other modern engine adjustments. The Chevrolet cars are usually either the Bel Air or the Master Deluxe, although the Bel Air is more popular. The Bel Air is from the 1950s, and its engine received similar upgrades as the Ford. The body style between the two are very different, and you can find both cars in several colors. Some even have flames, which is typical of a hot rod car. If you want to own a street rod car, look through the vast inventory on eBay to find one that matches your style.
