About Silver Peso

Take a look south of the border if you want to invest in silver. Mexican silver peso coins are sought by coin collectors and investors in precious metals as a denomination of silver coin that is frequently available. For collectors, the older coins are especially sought-after, especially in good condition. The famous Caballito one-peso silver coin, considered by many to be the most beautiful Mexican coin ever issued, features the Mexican coat of arms on the obverse side (the eagle with the snake in its beak on a cactus) and, on the reverse, a woman riding a horse with her hand lifted. The coins were issued from 1910 to 1914. More commonly, one finds later-minting silver peso coins in higher denominations. Many people offer 100-peso silver coins minted in the 1960s and 1970s on eBay. The silver content of the Mexican peso typically is rated at .720, although higher content coins have been issued. Don't wait for mañana!
