About Seth Thomas Ship's Clocks

The Seth Thomas Clock Company has been an American clock-making company from 1813 until the 1980s. The company manufactured the four-sided brass centerpiece which keeps time in Grand Central Station, New York, as well as the Seth Thomas ship's clocks for World War II Navy ships. If your mantel, wall, or office needs a timeless timepiece, consider Seth Thomas. An example of a vintage, authentic ship's clock is signed and numbered, with brass movement and an 11-jewel platform. Dated 1941, it is black with Bakelite casing. Other Seth Thomas ship's clocks in the same design are found in brass or nickel. The face features black Roman numerals. The Seth Thomas ship's bell clock features a hinged bezel above the exterior brass bell and measures 6.25 inches wide and 11 inches tall. There is a large selection of many maritime-inspired Seth Thomas clocks available in the vast inventory on eBay. Choose the mantel version that has the clock in a classic, wood mantel case or the clock and barometer desk set mounted in mahogany. There are even ship-inspired designs like the banjo electric wall clock with ship motif and brass eagle ornament.
