About Plymouth Prowler
The Plymouth Prowler, built in 1997 and from 1999 to 2002, had unique retro styling reminiscent of a 1930s roadster. The two-seat Prowler had a V6 engine, open, Indy style front wheels, a long nose with exposed front suspension components, a bathtub-like passenger compartment, a short, sloping rear end, and 20-inch rear wheels. It also had a comfortable interior with leather seats, air conditioning, power windows and locks, power mirrors, cruise control, a CD changer, and a premium sound system. The Plymouth Prowler did not have a manual transmission option, but the automatic transmission's manual mode provided quick shifting. Customers could buy a Plymouth Prowler trailer with a matching color and similar styling to expand their Prowler's cargo room beyond the relatively small trunk. In 2000, Plymouth redesigned the suspension and the tires for a smoother ride. Chrysler sold the Prowler in 2001 and 2002 after the Plymouth was discontinued.
