About Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon
As a nod to its four-wheel drive and off-road capability, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon got its name from the Rubicon Trail in Sierra Nevada Mountains and not the boundary that Caesar crossed to plunge the Roman Empire into a civil war. The first Wrangler Rubicon came out in 2003 with all of the trademark features of the series, including a Rock-Trac 4X4 drive system, front and rear Dana 44 heavy-duty axles, 16-inch alloy wheels, and diamond plate panels. In 2004, the Wrangler Unlimited rolled off production lines with a longer wheelbase and a Command-Trac 4WD system. The next model year, Jeep combined both platforms to make the ultimate off-road SUV. The 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon is a better all-terrain vehicle than both the Wrangler Unlimited and Wrangler Rubicon in its model year, and has twice the towing capacity of the regular Rubicon. Never fear to press on with your adventure even after the road ends when you pick up a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon among the wide selection of off-road vehicles on eBay.
