Your Acura Integra is a blast to drive to the beach, work, or wherever the road leads you. As you are taking it for a spin, you feel the standard sport suspension respond smoothly when your cornering, but as you shift into third gear the GSR transmission makes a startling grinding noise. The transmission slips out and does not properly shift into third-gear, and the result is a broken synchro ring and trashed transmission. Synchro rings are mounted on top of the gears in a manual transmission. When these fail, the gears will no longer engage properly. Unfortunately, this repair requires you to rebuild the whole transmission. Luckily, there are large inventories of replacement GSR transmissions and rebuild kits available on eBay. The GSR transmission has a 4.4 final drive and some models feature a limited-slip differential. The gearing in a GSR is well balanced and allows the car to cruise comfortably without harming its fuel economy. Repair your GSR transmission on you Acura Integra and hit the road once again.
